Un dirigeable, un voleur insaisissable etune mission de haut vol... John Boarhog n'était pas prêt pour ce voyage turbulent \! À peine remis d'une enquête périlleuse pour récupérer un rubis d'une valeur d'un milliard de dollars, le jeune John Boarhog et l'inspecteur Toadius McGee se lancent dans une nouvelle aventure. Leur objectif : intercepter la mystérieuse Phalène Mauve avant son prochain vol. Pour cela, ils embarquent à bord d'un luxueux dirigeable de croisière. Hélas \! le ciel s'annonce bien plus sombre que prévu : la Société Officielle des Superdétectives (S.O.S) est également à bord, déterminée à soumettre John à son premier test pour les rejoindre en bonne et due forme, malgré les protestations de Toadius. Furieux contre son mentor, John se lie d'amitié avec " la Ruche ", un groupe d'adolescents obsédés par les réseaux sociaux. Pourtant, quand la Phalène Mauve refait surface, le duo improbable doit à tout prix surmonter ses différends pour sauver la situation avant qu'il soit trop tard \!
